"Owl Always Love You!"

One of the things I enjoy most is watching my children pour over their scrapbooks I've spent the last 12 years creating for them! I'm a big believer in the power of words and how they can make people feel and one of my biggest passions is journaling words of love, encouragement, hope and faith.

The biggest impact my scrapbooking has had, has been on my Miss 12 year old. I've lost count of the number of times I've found her snuggled up in her bed, her scrapbooks piled up around her, engrossed in the best possible story she could be reading, the story of her life. I started scrapbooking her photos and recording her milestones when she was 5 months old. My intention was to complete a baby album for her to have as a keepsake but I really wanted to focus on the journaling. I had my own baby album of me, but albums of the 70's weren't high on the quality list so my photos had yellowed and what writing was in there was fading! I really wanted something for Kayla to last the test of time, but more importantly, words her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren could one day read.

Scrapbook albums fill kids up. They show them they belong, that they are loved and are unique. It helps them to connect, to engage and remind them of all the wonderful, positive and happy things they have in their lives! And God only knows how much kids these days need something they can ground themselves to! When Kayla has felt troubled, or anxious, when she's questioned herself or her values or her faith, time and time again, I've seen her return to her scrapbooks. I cannot tell you how much joy and pride this gives me and how it fills my heart with so much hope for her, the young woman she is growing into and what the future holds for her when she becomes a Mum of her own.

When "Chalk It Up" was released as part of our new Annual Inspirations Ideas Book, I fell in love and knew instantly how much it would suit her current photos! It's perfect for that tween/teen stage and our complementing stamps have THE most awesomest expressions! #justsayin

This scrapbook layout was inspired by our August Stamp of the Month, What A Hoot! and will be the perfect backdrop for some photos of my gorgeous girl, who, Owl Always Love!
